Possible Prison Bound Madine Hit's A Hat-Trick

City old boy news Former Coventry City loanee Gary Madine hit a hat-trick for Carlisle United tonight, hours after being served with the threat of being sent to prison.The striker, who made nine substitute appearances for the Sky Blues last season, played for Carlisle at Hartlepool United. The Cumbrians, managed by former Sky Blue Greg Abbott were a goal up after eight minutes before Madine scored in the 26th, 36th and 71st minutes and picked up a 27th minute booking for celebrating his first goal.Prior to the game, Madine had been in Carlisle Crown Court for a charge of causing actual bodily harm to the man in the Beehive pub close to Carlisle's ground on February 27th.Originally, Madine, who has a contract at Brunton Park until 2013, pleaded 'not guilty' but changed his plea to guilty on Tuesday. He was granted bail until the sentencing hearing and warned by the judge that 'all options, including custody, would be open.' Baz Savage scored for Dagenham & Redbridge in a 2-2 draw at Colchester United. The former City trialist was also booked in the 64th minute.Kevin Thornton put Northampton Town ahead in first half stoppage time but Chesterfield scored twice in the second half to win 2-1.
