Port Vale trial for Cain

Winger played well in 4-1 win Ashley Cain, the young winger recently released by Coventry City has had a trial at Port Vale, where he played a big part in the 4-1 defeat of a second string Walsall side by Port Vale reserves. The Port vale side had a total of five trialists, including Cain, who has been told his contract with Coventry City will not be renewed in the summer. Walsall took the lead against the run of play, but Vale hit back with Cain playing his part. Cain crossed the ball from left for Bennett to score from 16 yards. The two wingers, Cain and Bennett  were a constant threat to Walsall and their 'keeper, Bevan, produced was kept busy for entire game. Cain once again provided the cross which resulted in another Port Vale goal. This time crossed the ball low inside from the left for Andrew Osei Sirius who put his   shot inside the left-hand post from ten yards out. Cain was instrumental in Vale's third goal of the night when a cross from  Bennett was met with a fierce volley from Cain, but the shot was handled inside the area by Walsall defender Richard Davies. Morsy scored the resultant penalty.
