City Academy boss on playing matches

Coventry City Academy boss Greg Rioch feels that all the U18 and reserves team matches his players are playing is holding them in good stead.

Speaking to the club website, Rioch whose side top the Academy League Group B table, said: "You can really judge the lads when they are playing games and at the moment they are playing two games a week.

"With the reserve matches and the Academy fixtures along with other games we are organising, there are a lot of games.

"It is good for us to go down there and watch how they cope against some of the older lads. It will be a good experience for them and hopefully we will benefit from it."
