Clive Platt gets two year deal at Northampton

Clive Platt has agreed to sign for Northampton Town after turning down a new contract at Coventry City.

The forward was brought into the Sky Blues by Aidy Boothroyd who now manages The Cobblers.

During his time at the Ricoh Arena, Platt scored eleven goals in 47 appearances but was in and out of the side due to a back injury.

Last week, City manager Andy Thorn said that Platt was part of his plans and had offered him a new deal.

However, it transpires that City had only offered him a one year deal and when the former City manager offered him a two year deal, the 34 year old took the two year option.
