Platt sing Doyle praises

Doyle, the unsung hero Coventry City striker Clive Platt has praised the match winning performance of Michael Doyle after the Irish midfielder scored the winning goal against Burnley on Saturday. Doyle has not been a regular starter for Coventry City this season and has spent much of the time on the bench, but the injury to Sammy Clingan has give Doyle the chance to shine and he has shone brightly. Speaking about Doyle's performance on Saturday and in training, Platt said, “It was a great strike from Michael who has been in and out of the team since the start of the season, but he trains 100 per cent every time and when he’s sat on the bench he is cheering the lads on and is certainly not one of those who goes against the cause just because he is not involved." “He is a true, true squad player and he showed his quality out there on Saturday. I am chuffed for him, because it was a great finish and if anyone deserves it, he does because his training and attitude has been spot on. He is right behind the lads and just wants to see Coventry City do well.” Doyle is far from a prolific goal scorer, but Platt revealed,  “I have only seen Michael playing for the few months I have been at the club and he has been firing them in during training He puts his tackles in, he tries to keep the ball and if things aren’t going well he will show himself and I have seen him do it many a time in training and I am just glad he got one on a match day.”
