Deegan hopes for return Coventry City midfielder Gary Deegan is hoping that a trip to the surgeon today will allow him to start playing again. The Irishman, who joined City from Bohemians back in January tore ankle ligaments against Reading in April and told the CT: "The rehab has been pretty slow and I keep getting little set-backs, but I am getting on with it. "I am seeing the surgeon again and hopefully it will be fine from there. "I was supposed to be back joining in with the lads last week but it is still a bit sore and the idea is that by staying off it for another week I will be all right."Initially I didn't think the injury was as bad as it was and I didn't realise I had done it at the time. "I knew I was going to have to play catch-up from the start but obviously this is going to be even harder now and it will be like it was when I first came to the club."But I am looking forward to working with the new manager. "I have had a chat with him and he means business and is not going to take any messing, and that's what is needed at the club because we went through a little bad spell at the end of the season and now we need to get our heads down."He has come in and given us all a lift - everyone has taken to him and we are all looking forward to the new season."
