PFA Fans' Player of the Month: December 2013 - League One, last chance to vote

31 December 2013 13:41

The race for the prize of PFA Fans’ Player of the Month in League One has been blown wide open by a catalogue of wonderful individual strikes this week.

The likes of Leon Clarke and Callum Wilson (both Coventry) along with Patrick Bamford at MK Dons are still banging in the goals for fun this season, but a few new goalscoring heroes have started stealing the limelight.

Swindon’s Alex Pritchard, on loan from Spurs, scored a wonderful solo goal in the draw with Bradford whilst Cody McDonald (Gillingham) and Carl Baker (Coventry) hit the heights with spectacular overhead kick goals.

Jose Baxter took his Sheffield United tally to four goals in five games in the Blades’ 3-1 win against Tranmere, and Jonson Clarke-Harris made it three in three for him for Oldham against his former club Coventry.

Jay Emmanuel-Thomas scored twice in the space of four minutes in Bristol City’s 4-1 win against Stevenage, and in so doing took his record to ten goals in 13 games – it’s already the best goalscoring season of his career.

The division’s current leaders Brentford are the team to beat at the moment on the back of 11 wins in 12 league games, and Clayton Donaldson and Sam Saunders are sure to figure in this month’s voting for fans’ player of the month.
