City Boss On Motivation

Coventry City manager Steven Pressley has said that he does not need to extra motivate his players by bringing in players as his players are motiviated already.

Speaking to the Coventry Telegraph's Andy Turner, Pressley said: "We have got a really great group of players in terms of their honesty and desire to do well..

“At some clubs you need additional players to put pressure on those that are playing to get performances high.

"But our group are very conscious about their performance and that’s why they don’t need pressure from others, from a big squad, because they want to give performances and want to be the best player they can in every game. And training is the same.

“They are a brilliant group in that respect and I feel their pride in their own performance is really high. They are so self-motivated – they don’t need motivation from me bringing in additional players to put pressure on them because they are very conscious about their own level of performance.”
