Only A Couple Of FA Cup Shocks

There was only a couple of shocks in the FA Cup Second Round matches played this afternoon.

The biggest saw Conference side Kidderminster Harriers, fielding former Coventry City player Lee Fowler beat League 2 side Newport County 4-2.

The other shocks saw Conference side Grimsby Town beat Aidy Boothroyd's Northampton Town 2-0 and League Two Rochdale win 2-1 at Rotherham.

The lowest ranked clubs left in the competition - Stourbridge were beaten 4-0 at Stevenage and Brackley Town lost 3-2 at Macclesfield Town.

There were wins for Carlisle United, Southend, Leyton Orient, MK Dons, Peterborough for whom former Sky Blue Shaun Jeffers scored twice, Plymouth, Preston and last night Port Vale.

Requiring replays were the game between Bristol Rovers and Crawley, Fleetwood and Burton and Oldham and Mansfield,
