O'Neill Leads Shamrock To European Glory
City Old Boy News Former Coventry City midfielder Michael O'Neill has led Shamrock Rovers into the group stages of the Europa League. O'Neill, who made five appearances for City between 1996 and 1998 took over as manager of Shamrock Rovers in December 2008, citing former City manager Gordon Strachan as one of his influences. He took Shamrock to the League Of Ireland title in 2010 and last night his side over-came one-time European big boys Partizan Belgrade to book their place in the Europa League Group stages, where they will face Tottenham Hotspur, Russian side FC Rubin Kazan and Greek side PAOK.
