O'Donovan set to leave Coventry
League 1 clubs interested in surplus striker Coventry City are set to sell out of favour striker Roy O'Donovan before the end of the January transfer window. O'Donovan joined Coventry City last year on a free transfer from Sunderland but has failed to impress and struggled to find favour with City boss Aidy Boothroyd. The 25 year old had impressed while on loan at Hartlepool from the Black Cats where he was scoring freely. City are not short of strikers, with King, Jutkiewicz, Platt, Eastwood and McSheffrey all currently vying for a starting place, so the 25 year old O'Donovan will be offloaded. It will be the second time O'Donovan has left Coventry City, he was a trainee at the club joining in 2001 and leaving to return to Cork in the Republic of Ireland in 2004. It is thought that there are several League one club interested in signing O'Donovan and he could be playing for a new club by the weekend.
