Former Coventry City captain Stephen Wright feels that Wrexham will be the team to beat in the Conference next season.

Wrexham, managed by former Sky Blue Andy Morrell and featuring the likes of former City youngsters Robert Ogleby and Kevin Thornton, were beaten 2-0 by Newport County in the Conference Final at Wembley last month and are looking to go one better next season.

Speaking to Richard Williams of The Leader, Wright said:“I thought we were better prepared for the play-offs this season.

“We knew what we had to do and what was expected of us.

“You saw the way we played in the semi-final against Kidderminster and in the final but we have now got to go again next season.

“Hopefully we can go one better and win the title, that is what we will be trying to do.

“We have had a taste of it and come close to promotion but I don’t think there is anything to fear in this division.”
