Roy Would Have Saved Me - Boothroyd

Former Coventry City manager Aidy Boothroyd has said that had he played Roy O'Donovan more often then he would have kept his job at Coventry City for longer.

"Hindsight is a wonderful thing and people always talk about regrets when they leave a club," said Boothroyd, who leads Northampton Town out for a League 2 Play-Off Final against Bradford City this afternoon, to the Coventry Telegraph's Alan Poole.

"But I'm convinced that if I'd played Roy O'Donovan more at Coventry City, I'd have stayed in my job longer and we would have won a lot more games.

"I should have got him in the team somehow because he's the sort of character you need in a battle when things aren't going for you - that was my mistake."
