Former Coventry City forward Robbie Simpson won't be joining the City old boys who will be playing at Wembley, when his Oldham Athletic side were beaten 1-0 in the second leg of the Johnsons Paint Trophy Northern Area Final.
Oldham trailed 2-1 to Chesterfield from the first leg but at Boundary Park, could not fashion a goal and when Jack Lester made the most of an error between the Oldham defender and keeper with five minutes left, Chesterfield had booked their place in the Final against either Swindon Town or Barnet.
