No Vuvu for Sky Blues

Coventry have decided to ban Vuvuzelas from the Ricoh Arena for the 2010/11 season after consulting their safety team. The controversial musical instrument was a prominent feature of the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, but Sky Blues fans will not be allowed to bring them into home games next season. A senior member of the club's management team told Coventry's official website: "A series of other clubs have made the decision to ban vuvuzelas but we wanted to look into it ourselves and not have a knee-jerk reaction. "We did see the potential benefits of allowing them in but there were too many issues surrounding the instrument to make it possible from a health and safety point of view as well as the comfort and enjoyment of other supporters. "Obviously, all decisions can be reviewed but for now it stands that supporters won't be able to bring vuvuzelas to the matches. "We are, however, looking into the possibility of selling an alternative instrument that is not as big or loud in the club shop because we want fans to come along, have fun and generate an atmosphere."
