No special treatment for Savage
Boothroyd concerned with the the whole team, not just one player. When Coventry City take on Derby County on Saturday (kick off 12:15) Aidy Boothroyd will not be making any plans to deal with one of football's perpetual wind up merchants Robbie Savage. Wherever he goes, wherever he plays, Savage always has something to say and is never far from controversy. Many City fans blame Savage for getting the young full back Jordan Clarke sent off last season at Pride Park when he tumbled to the ground in a way any Hollywood stunt man would have been proud of. Derby went on to win 2-1. However, Boothroyd is unconcerned about Savage and his antics. He said, “If we just focus all our energies on one man we’ll forget about all the rest, and there are some very good players in that Derby team." “I’ve come across Robbie a few times and he’s moving into different spheres now, in fact I half expected him to be here interviewing me today. I was listening to his phone-in on Saturday when he was saying that he’s a marked man. He’s been a marked man for about 20 years, hasn’t he, and that’s because he’s good at what he does.”
