No loan deal likely
Costs are far too high Coventry City manager Andy Thorn has admitted that he does not have any loan deals lined up at the moment, not because he doesn't want, or need new talent,it is because quality Premier League players command fees that Coventry City cannot afford. City could do with some experience players to help their youngsters develop their skills and talents which could be available through the loan market, but not at any price. Speaking to the CT, Thorn explained the conundrum he is facing. He can take youngsters from Premier League clubs, but they will not necessarily be any better than the youngsters he already has under his wing, but the older, more experienced players are on wages that cannot be met by City. He told the CT, “I have spoken to a few managers but the players who are in the reserves in Premiership clubs are on quite a lot of money and if you are not getting them then you are going underneath and taking kids out and I think we’ve got enough kids at the minute." “We’re looking for a little bit of experience to go in there and help us along, as well as having the young ones with their legs and enthusiasm." "So it’s a thin line. Obviously I’d love to have a few more so we’ll see what happens, but there’s nothing happening at the moment and my sole focus is on the players that are available because we want to get the best out of them for Saturday.”
