No interest in Kightly

Attacking midfielder need not winger

Coventry City have said they are not interested in taking Wolves winger Michael Kightly on loan.

Kightly had been tipped as a possible loan signing for Andy Thorn, but it is understood that Thorn doesn't believe that Kightly would fit in with the diamond formation that he prefers.

Thorn is after a more attack minded midfielder to anchor his diamond formation and Kightly, who plays mainly as a right winger, does not fit the bill.

Kightly has spent two years struggling against injury, but recently played a full game for the Wolves reserves, but still needs games to get match fit, which is why he wants a loan move, but any move to Coventry is now unlikely.

Coventry City chairman Ken Dulieu has said that he will leave no stone unturned in the search for loan signings of the right  type which are desperately need by Thorn as he struggles to steer his wafer thin squad away from the drop zone.

Dulieu said, “We have been looking for players for several weeks but they have to fit in to our style of play and enhance the quality of the team.”
