Nightmare Debut For Henderson

Coventry City defender Joe Henderson had a nightmare debut for Bedworth United as he played in a Greenbacks teams that were beaten 6-1 at Leamington FC.

Bedworth took the lead in the 15th minute through Mitch Piggon but former Aston Villa youngster Stefan Moore, who was making his debut for The Brakes, fired Leamington level in the 22nd minute.

Two minutes before half-time, a bumper gate of 643 saw Lee Moore hit a second for Leamington.

The Brakes took control in the second half with Chilton making it 3-1 in the 59th minute. Ten minutes later, Stefan Moore hit his second of the game and then completed his hat-trick for the fifth which became six when Mace scored in the second minute of stoppage time.

A crowd of 359 at Butlin Road saw Rugby Town keep up their push for promotion with a 2-0 win over Daventry Town. Youngs opened the scoring in the 59th minute with a second for McBride in the 90th minute.

All but three matches in the Midland Combination were postponed. Two which did go ahead involving teams in the Coventry & Warwickshire area  saw Leamington Hibernian win 2-1 at FC Stratford and Perrywood beat Kenilworth Town 2-1.
