Newcastle perspective on Coventry game

Magpies boss on tonights game Coventry City visit to a Newcastle side unbeaten at home this season is being seen on Tyne side as a game where points are more important than style. Newcastle need at least a point to regain top spot in the Championship. Newcastle's last home game saw them thrash play off contenders Cardiff City 5-1 Magpies boss Chis Hughton said, "It's nice if you can create free-flowing football and I know what the supporters want to see, We were delighted a couple of weeks ago that we were able to give the supporters that on the Friday. Would I have performances like that and get a draw or would I get a scrappy win, it would be a win." "We have to maintain where we are. If we can do that by playing free flowing football then great. But what's more important than that is winning games. What you want to be able to do is play a good, free-flowing passing game, There will be some good games where you think it will be right to play two wide players in Routledge and Gutiérrez." "Those two in particular are capable of producing that. It's nice to see it when it happens. There are some games where you don't think it will be appropriate. It doesn't mean it will be any less attractive or the passing worse, just that it becomes a different game." Former Coventry City striker Leon Best might face his old side, but he has failed to score in his first three appearances for Newcastle. Hughton appears unconcerned saying of Best  "He is a good age, a powerful lad and one lad you need to get close to goal because he is a big, powerful finisher, He is at the right age to develop at this moment in a good team. That's something we have seen in him for a while."
