Morrison:I couldn't work with Boothroyd
Striker reveals why he left Coventry Former Coventry City striker Clinton Morrison has spoken of his reasons for leaving the club last June. Morrison signed a two year deal with the Sky Blues in 2008 and when it was up for renewal City chairman Ray Ranson indicated that the club wanted Morrison to stay on, but he would have to accept reduced terms. Morison gave his side of the story saying, “As soon as Chris Coleman left Coventry, I knew that I was going to go in a different direction. I had a lot of time for him." // '); // ]]> “I had spoken to the chairman and he said that he wanted to keep me but that I was going to have to be on reduced terms. I said I’d wait to see what happened, but then Chris got the sack." “Aidy Boothroyd liked a different style, I didn’t think it would suit me and I didn’t think we suited each other if I’m being honest. That’s why it didn’t work out there.” Then speaking of his move to League one outfit Sheffield Wednesday, the 30 year old striker said, "The manager has told me he wants me here and how I’m going to figure in his plans." “I’m a player who wants to be wanted and he’s shown great faith in me. The manager has been trying to get me all summer. Sheffield Wednesday are a massive club and I’ve always enjoyed playing here. I think the fans are brilliant and hopefully I can score goals for them.”
