Striker rubbishes twitter claims Coventry City's 31 year old striker Clinton Morrison has phoned the Coventry Telegraph to deny claims made on the social networking site Twitter, supposedly by Morrison, that he is leaving the club. Morrison's contract expires in the summer and he has expressed hopes that Aidy Boothroyd will offer him another term at The Ricoh. Morrison contacted the Telegraph while on holiday to put his side of the story. he said of the twitter claims, “Tell people it’s not true. I’ve seen the things on Twitter and Facebook but it’s 100 per cent not me, although I don’t know how whoever it is knows so much about me” Morrison then went on to say, I’m still waiting to hear from the club. I spoke to the chairman at the back end of last season and he said he wanted me to stay but we didn’t speak about money or anything. My agent’s going to speak to the new boss and I’ll definitely be interested if they can come up with something.” Whether he will be successful remains to be seen. Along with Morrison, Stephen Wright and Dimi Konstantopolous are all out of contract later this summer. It is likely that Boothroyd will want to stamp his mark on the team at the earliest opportunity and all three players could be looking for new clubs.
