Morrell On The Mark

Non-League Round Up Former Coventry City striker Andy Morrell scored this afternoon for Wrexham. On a bank holiday Monday where the football was restricted to the non-league, Morrell scored in the 59th minute of a Conference Premier division game which Wrexham won 2-0. Locally, Nuneaton Town were pegged back at Worcester City. In a game which kicked off at 1pm, Lee Moore put Kevin Wilkins side ahead in the 11th minute but Taylor equalised for the home side in stoppage time. Leamington FC were also pegged back in an Evostick Southern league game at Redditch United. Husband put the Brakes ahead in the 28th minute but Howell equalised in front of a crowd of 523 in the 68th minute. The Mattys were at it against for Bedworth United. Matty Gardner scored in the 10th and 53rd minute and Matty Piggon also found the net in the 47th minute as Bedworth beat Daventry Town 3-1. Rugby Town won 1-0 at Woodford United with an eighth minute goal from Gunderlach. In the Midland Alliance, Coventry Sphinx drew 1-1 at Stratford Town but Atherstone Town lost 4-2 at home to Heather St Johns. In the Midland Combination Division One, Alvis drew 0-0 with Cotton Green.
