Former Coventry City forward and wide man Andy Morrell has been confirmed as manager of Wrexham AFC until the end of the season.

Morrell was appointed caretaker boss after Dean Saunders left to join Doncaster Rovers and has won seven out of nine match including booking his side a place in the FA Cup First Round draw following a 2-1 win over York City.

Morrell is waiting to find out who his boss will be as a takeoever from Wrexham Supporters Trust has still not been ratiified and he said to Wales On-Line:  “It’s not easy this management lark, especially with the small squad we have.

“But the lads were fantastic today, even the ones who came in and stepped up.

“I’m not sure what will be happening and I’m hoping for some sort of decision as soon as possible. If the Trust and Geoff Moss can bang their heads together and make a decision I don’t mind which way they go. This uncertainty can’t go on forever.”
