More Boothroyd sacking

Harrison and Thorn left in charge. Coventry City Football Club released a statement following the sacking of their manager Aidy Boothroyd and assistant manager Martin Pert. The statement read, " We would like to place on record our thanks to Aidy and Martin for their efforts." "We will not be holding a media conference today as the team is preparing for the match at Burnley." Head coach Steve Harrison and chief scout Andy Thorn will take temporary charge as the club prepare for the trip to Burnley tomorrow. Coventry City, under the guidance of Boothroyd, had one of the best spells for some time and rose to fourth in the Championship table, but since December the Sky Blues have found winning almost impossible and have slipped from a solid play off place to 19th and facing the spectre of relegation, being just seven points above the drop zone.
