McSheffrey's season may be over

Coventry striker Gary McSheffrey could miss the remainder of the season with a knee injury. McSheffrey suffered the injury during the 3-0 victory over Portsmouth a week ago. Scans have revealed no ligament damage but it could take around three weeks to recover from the problem, effectively ruling him out for the remainder of the campaign. "It could be a three-week job and if he doesn't play again this season it will be a blow for Gary and the team because he has been terrific and a big part of what we have achieved," caretaker manager Andy Thorn told the Coventry Telegraph. "I know Gary is happy with the results of the scan, which showed it is not that bad, and he was certainly smiling at the game on Saturday. "Ligaments are a tricky one and sometimes a break is easier to come back from but we will look after him and play it day by day. "Gary is experienced enough to know his own body and he'll be ready to play when he says and it wouldn't surprise me if he came to me and said he was ready before the season is out."
