McSheffrey hails Sky Blues showing

Gary McSheffrey praised his Coventry team-mates after netting his first goal of pre-season against West Brom. McSheffrey, who won promotion from League One while on loan at Leeds last season, opened the scoring at the Ricoh Arena before Ismael Miller secured a 1-1 draw for Roberto Di Matteo`s side. "I`m obviously pleased to have got off the mark because it always takes a bit of pressure off you, but I thought all of the lads did really well," the 27-year-old forward told Coventry`s official website. "We played some good football, did well on on the counter-attack and could have had a couple more goals before half-time. "It`s still all about getting everything right before the start of the season because Portsmouth next week will be a completely different game, but West Brom are a good side and it was a good test for us."
