Coventry City manager Andy Thorn will be making changes to the side that lost at home to Burnley last week when he selects his team to face Doncaster tomorrow.
Thorn will be without the services of midfielder Gael Bigirimana for thee games as he serves his mandatory ban after being sent off last week.
The loss of Bigirimana is tempered by the return of midfielder Carl Baker who has recovered from injury and is fit and ready to play.
Striker Gary McSheffrey has also recovered from his knock and will be in contention for a starting place. Out of favour striker Freddy Eastwood scored in a reserves game at Leicester in mid week, but he is unlikely to start.
Coventry City have never won at The Keepmoat and will travel to Doncaster tomorrow in the hope of a double. Their first away win of the season as well as their first win at the ground. Doncaster are currently at the foot of the Championship league table, but City are only three places above them.
McSheffrey is likely to head the diamond formation that Thorn likes, with Baker at the other end. Their experience is something that Thorn would welcome as their presence will give the younger players a lift.
Thorn said, “Having Sheffs and Bakes will be a bonus and at the moment Gary is probably the best on to play in that role because he can create and score goals from there. So it is important that we have him back firing and by his own admission he hasn’t really got going yet this season.
"It’s also important that the senior boys pull their weight and start turning in consistent performances and chipping in with a few goals as well.”
On the down side, centre-back Richard Wood remains a doubt for the trip to the Keepmoat Stadium leaving 19-year-old Nathan Cameron on standby.
"We will wait and see with Woody,” said Thorn, “but if he’s injured then Nathan will come in and whoever holds a place down there will stay there.”And the City boss revealed that he and his players are upbeat about bouncing back from last weekend’s disappointment.
“The boys have been good in training this week where there has been a good atmosphere and buzz about the place, as there has been all season,” revealed Thorn who is looking forward to continued excellent support from the travelling fans.
“We have bounced back because we know that things will come good for us and we are going to go to Doncaster to play our football and try to get a result.
“The supporters were terrific up at Leeds and it will be lovely if we get the same tomorrow and get a result for them.”
