Manager thanks McIndoe After telling Michael McIndoe he will not be offered a new deal with Coventry City, Andy Thorn has praised the player for his efforts and professionalism while he has been at City.McIndoe missed out on a new contract for a variety of reasons. He was reputedly one of the bigger wage earners at the club and by freeing up the money that would have been used on his wages Thorn can now try to attract one or two new and younger faces tot he club.Thorn also is trying to re-implement the policy of bringing on young and talented players from the Academy and to attract a younger generation of players to the club. McIndoe was brought to the club by Chris Coleman, but given the cold shoulder by Boothroyd and then Thorn reintroduced him to first team football when he became boss, but now the manager has decided to look to bring on Coventry City's talented crop of Academy youngsters instead as he attempts to make the best use of his meagre budget.Thorn praised McIndoe, saying, "We wish him all the best. He has been terrific since he has come back into the squad. His attitude has been good, he's trained well but he's not been offered a new contract. It has just not worked out for him at Coventry, and sometimes that happens.""I remember it happened to me in my career and that's football, but he's been a great kid. We brought him back in from the wilderness this season and he got his head down and had a go, but we have got a lot of young boys coming through who we like, for example Gael Bigirimana, Josh Ruffles, Conor Thomas and they are future of the club playing the way we are.""I have still got targets and people I want to bring in if people decide they want to go, but I have got to get that balance right."Picture copyright of Covsupport News Service.
