Coventry City breezed through their Third Round Birmingham County FA Womens Cup tie against Leamington Lions with a 7-0 victory.

On a breezy afternoon at Westwood Heath Road, City, the competition holders, should have taken a fourth minute when Helen Dermody got through and slipped the ball wide.

Three minutes later, City did take the lead when Ashley Neville got into the centre of the area and slipped the ball past the keeper Lucy Gardner.

Johnson continued to provide some excellent crosses against a Lions side which mustered a 14th minute shot on goal.

City countered and Helen Dermody skipped into the area before shooting low into the net for City's second in the sixteenth minute.

In the 26th minute, Dermody made it three with a good finish from close range.

Dermody was denied her hat-trick by a great save by the keeper's legs as City continued to lay seige to the Lions goal.

City were all over Leamington from the start of the second half with Brace and Toussaint both having chances whilst Nicole Dale continued to wreek havoc.

The chances continued with a string of corners and Dermody and Gauntlett going close.

In the 63rd minute, a neat move and Natalie Brace was able to stroke home for City's fourth goal.

A fifth came five minutes later thanks to an unselfish cut back from Dermody for Katy Ward to tap in.

Dermody turned from provider to complete her hat-trick in the 71st minute with a stunning thirty yarder which flew into the net.

Eight minutes later and the visitors had their first corner of the game. There was a melee in the area but Sue Wood was alert and dived on the ball to snuff out the danger.

With five minutes left, it was seven when Ash Neville attacked and had her shot blocked by Gardner, leaving Nicole Dale with the simple job of tapping in.

In the last minute, Nikki Miles got to a loose ball inside the area and drove home for the eighth completing a good afternoon's work.
