According to today's CT, Coventry City Council Leader and long time Coventry City supporter John Mutton has called for Gary Hoffman and Joe Elliott to bring their Chinese backer to the table.
Speaking to the CT's Les Reid, Cllr Mutton said: “Joe Elliott and Gary Hoffman have for a long time been talking about Chinese investors.
“I haven’t met the Chinese, but I would like to, to see if they are genuine in their desire to take over the football club and help regenerate the area around the Ricoh Arena.
“There is an urgency. I said to Joe Elliott a couple of weeks ago that the time had come now, if the Chinese were seriously interested, to come up with a realistic offer and make things happen, otherwise we could end up with the football club down the swanny.
“We don’t know how other discussions will go but there is a pressing need.
"Until something is finalised, the club’s transfer embargo will not be lifted.
“Whatever comes out of the Sisu or Chinese talks, I would prefer something to happen sooner rather than later.
“But they’ve got to present a proper business case and that hasn’t happened yet.”
