King perplexed by delay

Striker waiting to sign The signing of controversial striker Marlon King is fast becoming like  a nineteenth century Russian novel where a lot is written but very little happens. The 30 year old has been training with Coventry City since his release from prison at the end of July. He has played in two friendlies and scored in both of them.He has been offered a contract by Aidy Boothroyd, he has apparently accepted the terms and wants to sign, but, as yet hasn't done so. King's agent Tony Finnigan is as perplexed as the rest and has insisted the delay is nothing to do with him or the player, “We’re all looking a bit foolish at the moment," he said.. "He’s passed his medical and we’ve sorted out the finances which are nowhere near the money he has earned.  He is starting again and no-one is breaking any pay structures to get him in so the hold up is with Coventry City, not us.” City boss and friend of King, Aidy Boothroyd has phoned King to reassure the striker that everything will eventually be sorted out by the club and he will be able to sign.
