Keogh wants Republic Of Ireland full cap Coventry City defender Richard Keogh hopes to make it into the Republic of Ireland squad one day. Keogh captained the Republic's U21 side and told the Coventry Observer's Steve Carpenter: "It means a lot to me having been the captain of the U21 side. "Ireland always holds a special place in my heart and obviously playing in the Championship is going to give me a bit more exposure, especially when you see what Keiren Westwood achieved when he was here. "it's always in the back of my head and I did think the more games I play the more chance I have of getting involved and there's quite a strong Irish connection here at the club. "So hopefully, if I keep putting on some good performances and if the squad picks up a few injuries and suspensions, then I could get involved which would be fantastic but if not I'll just try and do well for Coventry and everything else is a bonus."
