Summer signing Richard Keogh is relishing the start of the new npower Championship season after making his Coventry debut in the pre-season friendly against Nuneaton. The 23-year-old defender, who joined the club for an undisclosed fee from Carlisle earlier this summer, made his first appearance for the Sky Blues in Wednesday's goalless draw at Liberty Way. Keogh is now determined to kick on and show the supporters more of what they can expect from him this season. "I like to get forward and get involved, I see myself as an aggressive attacking full-back and it was great to finally be able to pull on a Sky Blues shirt and try to show some of the fans what I am about," he told the club's official website. "I'm really looking forward to the start of the season because I want to do well for this club and that starts by ticking all of the boxes in pre-season. "Nuneaton were very well organised and did well to frustrate us at times by getting behind the ball but the friendly games come thick and fast now and match fitness is the most important thing. You can do all the running in the world but there is no substitute for games so I'm just looking forward to the next one."
