I went to see Coventry Sphinx on Saturday, for the first time ever.
Easy to get to, free parking and just a fiver to get in.
Very nice clubhouse with bar. Cup of tea at pitchside kiosk for a quid.
I had very low expectations but the standard of football was better than I thought it would be - Ashley Cain was playing.
There's one tiny shelter otherwise you stand at the barrier that runs round the pitch. Atmosphere was...relaxed.
Average crowd is about 140 so don't expect any noise!
I didn't realise that Sphinx is an OAP ie over 65 years old with its roots in the Coventry motor industry - definitely part of our local heritage.
Their next home game clashes with Swindon away but then they are home on Saturday 28th December.
Every now and again someone suggests we have a KCICc day out at a different sporting event so anyone up for it?
