City striker looking forward to Southampton game

Coventry City's leading goal scorer Lukas Jutkiewicz has spoken about his excitement at the prospect of playing against his hometown club Southampton.

The 22 year old Jutkiewicz, who was born on the south coast, was a Southampton supporter as a child and then joined their academy at the age on ten, spoke to the Sky Blues player about his time in Southampton.

He said, "It is a big game for me personally as I haven't played againstSouthampton professionally so I am really looking forward to it. I grew up as a Southampton fan going down the Dell with my Matt Le Tissier shirt and loved every minute of it.

"I've got all my friends and family coming to the game on Saturday.  They will have divided loyalties being Southampton fans but they have got tickets in the Coventry end to support me. Ever since the fixtures came out, I have made about 100 new friends with people calling me up asking me for tickets, but it will be nice to have them there.

"It will be a big game for me and hopefully we can get the three points."

With Coventry stuck in the bottom three they need every point they can get, but facing an in form, table topping  side is a daunting prospect, but one Jutkiewicz is looking forward to and will be doing his best to make sure his boyhood side go home empty handed.

He said, "I am always fired up for every game but this is a special incentive for me. I had always dreamed in my childhood as playing for Southampton so to play against them is really exciting.

"I do still look for Southampton's results and I am pleased they are doing so well. I want them to win every game except the games when we play against them of course. They are doing well in the league but we have to make sure they don't do so well on Saturday."
