John Hartson In Coventry Tomorrow

07 November 2013 00:00
Hartson Talks Former Wales international John Hartson will be reminiscing about his career at Christ the King Club in Coundon tomorrow night.

The former Coventry and Celtic hit-man, started his 15-year professional career at Luton Town before moving to Arsenal in 1995. Spells at West Ham, Wimbledon and the Sky Blues followed and then came a move to Celtic. He spent five years at Celtic where he won three Scottish Premier League titles, two Scottish Cup winners medals and one Scottish League Cup winners medal.

He won 51 Wales caps and scored 14 international goals.

In 2009, at the age of thirty four, John was diagnosed with testicular cancer. Desperately ill (the cancer had spread to his brain and lungs) he had lifesaving surgery and spent many weeks in intensive care.

Thankfully he has made a miraculous recovery and now devotes a great deal of time to the charity setup in his name – the John Hartson Foundation.

Now a regular in the media with punditry and commentary work, Hartson has many stories to tell from his time in football and has become a very popular after dinner speaker.

He will make two appearances at the club in Westhill Road on both November 8th and November 23rd from 7.30pm.
