Ronnie on Jimmy Hill statue City Old Boy Ronnie Farmer has said that Jimmy Hill is thoroughly deserving of the statue of him that should be unveiled at the start of next season. Speaking to the Coventry Observer's Steve Carpenter, Farmer said: "He deserves his statue not just for what he did for Coventry City Football Club, but for how he transformed football.  "He brought so many things in to the game and had so many good ideas. He introduced bands, horses and cars on the pitch before the matches and things like that, which made it entertaining for the crowd and made them want to get to the matches early. "Playing under Jimmy was brilliant. "We were at the top one season, half way up the next then we were top again. The atmosphere in the dressing room was amazing, it was a great bunch of lads who enjoyed each others company. "Looking back, being part of what is now known as the Sky Blue Era was magnificent. I am Sky Blue through and through and although I spent time at Nottingham Forest, Coventry was great." The statue appeal is still open and you can donate either in cash or cheque at any Coventry Building Society Branch and by cheques made out to the Jimmy Hill Tribute Appeal and posted to Godiva House, Binley Business Park, Coventry, CV3 2TQ. Online bank transfers can also be made to the Jimmy Hill Tribute Appeal using account number 44715278 and sort code 40-63-01.   Picture copyright of Covsupport News Service. Credit CNS/KM
