Just £8,000 needed The Jimmy Hill statue appeal fund is just £8,000 short of the total needed to be able to proceed with the bronze statue to Coventry City's former manager. The appeal to raise £150,000 to pay for a 7' bronze statue of Jimmy Hill was launched earlier. The statue will be done by Sculptor Nicholas Dimbleby, who  has already sketched several designs for the statue. The appeal has widespread support within football including Alan Hansen and Bob Wilson. Coventry City director Joe Elliott said, “If there is any company or business who would like to donate to help us reach our target, they could have their name put on the plinth.” It is hoped the statue will be in place by the start of next season and It will be erected between the club shop and main entrance to The Ricoh Arena. Donations can be made at any branch of Coventry Building Society, or by post to the Jimmy Hill Tribute Appeal, Godiva House, Binley Business Park, Coventry, CV3 2TQ. Online bank transfers can also be made using account number 44715278 and sort code 40-63-01.
