Jeffers Gets Cambridge Outing
Non-League Round Up Shaun Jeffers who is on loan from Coventry City to Cambridge United came on as a 75th minute substitute this afternoon. The striker came on in Cambridge's 1-0 defeat at Darlington. City old boy Ashley Cain (pictured below) scored for Mansfield Town in a 2-0 win for Mansfield Town at Tamworth. Locally, Nuneaton Town are four points clear at the top of the Conference North Division after going down to a 2-1 defeat at Eastwood Town. Meikle put Eastwood ahead in the fourth minute and in the 87th minute, Rhead added a second. In the final minute of the match, Harris reduced the arrears for Nuneaton but it was too late. Former City youngster Andy Gooding scored for Hinckley United in a 2-1 home defeat to Workington. Leamington lost 1-0 at Swindon Supermarine. Stanley scored the only goal of the game with a 69th minute penalty.
