It's Life Jim But Not As We Know It‏

Another view on the Marlon King saga Marlon King.... never has a potential signing divided opinionSome argue he's done his time, his personal life is no concern, he deserves a second chance.... Fans point to Speedie and Denis Wise as examples of "bad boys" who have previously wore the sky blue shirt. I understand the argument but I don't agree. To me it's morally wrong. The wider issue is that's it typical of the way football is going when a player with a list of convictions can come out of jail and earn 10k a week. It's yet another nail in the coffin of football. To compare King to Speedo and Wise is wide of the mark. The crime that King committed is in a different league. If Clubs don't make a stand where will it end? Is the chase of the Premier League worth losing touch of what is right and wrong? I can't blame fans for questioning whether to continue to go. Football has lost touch with the real world: Sky TV decide times and dates of games. The England national team may cap a Spanish born player who has lived in England for 5 years. If this happens the national team will lose it's identity and become nothing more than a Club side. £150+k a week wages.Clubs in huge debts owned by people who just don't care. The list is endless and it's killing the game. The only true football is jumpers for goalposts where kids play for fun on a local park away from it all. Even junior football is being killed by parents and coaches shouting and yelling at kids. Not in all cases I accept but in the majority.Marlon King may score the goals that get us promoted...but you have to question is it worth it? I admire Wigan for taking a stand.I don't care if Aidy has never had a problem with him. He's missing the point. I don't want him at Cov. If we go up on the back of Kings goals it will never be right. If he goes to another Club and they go up at our expense it's a price I'm willing to pay.If King signs then in my view the Board and Manager have sold the Club out and in doing so will kill what little faith I have left.
