Coventry City Ladies forward Courtney Sweetman-Kirk was a 78th minute substitute for Great Britain U23's in their World University Summer games Group game against Japan.
At the Raketa Stadium, In Kazan, Russia, Sweetman-Kirk started on the bench for a Britain side which had beaten Brazil on Firday and came on in the 77th with Britain 2-1 down after Ami Sugita had given Japan the lead in the third minute, Britain levelled in the 50th minute through Mary Lipka and Japan had gone back in front through Sugita again.
Unfortunately, Sweetman-Kirk could not draw Britain back and they went down to a 2-1 defeat.
