In Terms Of The Bigger Picture - We Have Achieved Nothing - Pressley

City Boss Rules Out Early Promotion Talk.

Coventry City manager Steven Pressley has said that his group have achieved nothing.

Following the unbeaten month of October and coming back from a minus ten points deficit at the start of the season to be in a respectable mid-table position, there has been plenty of talk of promotion. However, the City boss is having none of it.

“What we have achieved is probably respect from other teams in what we’re capable of,” Pressley said to the Coventry Telegraph's Andy Turner.

“I think in terms of our players there is no doubt that they have progressed and are maturing all the time. But in terms of the big picture, what have we achieved? Nothing.

“This weekend we’re talking about the possibility of winning three consecutive league games for the first time in three years.

"Now that’s still not a big achievement but it’s moving in the right direction and it’s about all of the small factors accumulating to bring you success.

“We have got many, many small factors to achieve before we can start talking about success.

“This is no dig at Walsall at all, but I heard some of their players in the press prior to our game last week talking about how they would be involved in the play-offs.

“They are very much likely to be involved because they are a good team but we’re talking after 13/14 games here.

"A lot can happen between now and the end of the season and that’s why I am not getting carried away at this stage. Football changes very quickly and once we start thinking that way we’ve got a problem.”
