I'm Growing Into The Championship - Lukas

Jutkiewicz says he has grown into the Championship Coventry City striker Lukas Jutkiewicz has said that he hopes next season will be even better for him. The striker scored his eighth goal of the season at Middlesbrough on Monday and told the CT's Alan Poole: “As far as I’m concerned, this is my first full season in the Championship and I feel I have grown into it. “I’m still a young lad and I’ve played a fair amount of games and I feel I have grown into it so hopefully I can do well in the last two and that can be the start of an even better time for me next year.” Speaking about his goal, the £1m signing from Everton said: “It was a great ball from Sammy Clingan,” he explained. “He played Clive in and I wasn’t going to touch it at first because I didn’t know if I was offside or not at first but as soon as I thought it wasn’t going in I knew I had to make sure . “I smashed myself into the post in the process so I’ve got a nice bruise there now but it was a good feeling. The shame is that it wasn’t enough to get the three points. “Everyone was gutted in the dressing room afterwards. “We all said that we would have been disappointed with a draw given the way we played, so to lose it in the last minute was sickening really and perhaps a measure of how far we have come under Andy Thorn. “It was similar at the start of the season – it was just in the middle where we had a bad run and lacked confidence, but now this is a team that wants to win whoever we play and we feel that we can win away from home as well. “We want to start games quickly and impose ourselves on the opposition and I feel we did that, so we are just disappointed that we have come out of the game with nothing."
