I'm Delighted With Aron's Goals - Boothroyd

City boss on goal scoring Coventry City manager Aidy Boothroyd has said that he is delighted that a defender, striker and midfielder are the first team's leading scorers at the moment and is pleased with the new lease of life in Aron Gunnarsson."One of the things we said when we got together as a group in the summer was that we needed to score more if we were going to be successful," said Boothroyd to the CT."We want everybody contributing because you need to be getting 80 or 90 if you are going to challenge for promotion."Gary McSheffrey will get his fair share, as will Lukas Jutkiewicz, Clive Platt, Marlon King and Freddy Eastwood but at the moment, we've got three guys on the same total in Ben Turner, Clive Platt and Aron Gunnarsson."Aron only got one all last year, so he's found a new lease of life and is playing really well. And I'm delighted for him - he's got a lot of things in his game that can be improved but his attitude, his willingness to do the work required is excellent."He found it difficult in his second season and that often happens with young players who burst onto the scene."You live in the shadow of what you've done before and he set a very high standard - the 'difficult second album' is all being able to recreate it again."But he's pushing on; he's proved he can play in that central role and he has proved that he can play in a wide role."As a team and a club that makes him a very valuable player for us. "His long throw frightens people to death because set plays are very important and I'm a big believer that restarts can be the foundation of a successful season - you only have to look at the goals on any Premier League or Championship round up to see that a good 50-60% come from making sure you got your set plays right."It's something we work very hard on. "If you can get a good balance with those, it gives you more time to work on what you do when you have the ball and when you haven't." Picture copyright of Covsupport News Service. Credit CNS/KM
