I Won't Accept Mediocrity Here - Boothroyd

We've got a lot of good things here - Boothroyd Coventry City Manager Aidy Boothroyd has said that he won't put up with mediocrity whilst he is manager. The City boss who is coming under pressure from supporters for his tactics and the team's recent slump in form which has seen them drop from fifth in the table to eleventh, has his side four points off a play-off place. But Boothroyd told the CT: "It's no good saying we're only three points off this or four points off that because before you know it the season has gone."The last thing I want to do is to be sitting on the beach in May looking at other people going for promotion and its the same for the players and staff. "It's not panic stations, far from it. People were starting to get optimistic and that in itself is a positive because they weren't when I got here that's for sure."There has been mediocrity for a long time here and perhaps some people have come to accept that but I won't."I still think we've got a lot of good things going here and although I'll be making sure everybody understands what is required, we certainly won't throw the baby out with the bath water."There's no point in getting depressed, you've got to persevere, work even harder and we'll bounce back."
