More from City boss on his talk to players on Sunday

Coventry City manager Steven Pressley wants players who want to be at this club.

Pressley, who is still to convince sections of the support that he is not just a cheap option and is the right man to lead the Sky Blues, told the Coventry Telegraph's Andy Turner about the talks he will have with every player on Sunday: "We’ll be completely transparent with the whole group about where we see the situation moving forward and whether or not they’ll play a pivotal role in the club progressing over the weeks and months.

"I also want feedback from the players and where they feel they’re at. One of the important things about these meetings on Sunday is that it’s not just one way.

"The players have got to be happy in the environment and happy at this football club, and they’ve got to feel that they want to be here.

"These aspects are vitally important to me and it may be that there are players within the group that I want to retain but they, themselves, feel that it’s time for them to move on and that’s why it’s important that we have these discussions.

"So they’ll not be one-way discussion, they’ll be discussions where I find out what the players think and whether they are happy.

So these are all discussion we need to have with the player and then we’ll decide from there. But the one thing I do want at this football club is hungry players that actually want to be at this club.

"I have got no problem with players who are hungry to go and play in the Premier League because while they’re at this football club they’ll help us achieve our goal.

"But I want hungry players who want to be here and might be here for a period to get to where they want to be.

"I have no problem with that as long as they are hungry and want to be here to help this club achieve it’s goals. That’s what’s crucial to me."
