Coventry City manager Andy Thorn has said he tried to sign Nicky Maynard.
Speaking to Sky Blue Player, Thorn said about Bristol City who visit the Ricoh Arena where they have never lost, manager Derek McInnes and Nicky Maynard: "Well they play 4-3-3 and with the new manager arriving, they are going to be really up for it. They are where they are but they are a better side than their league position shows.
"We have to prepare on stopping them as a team but we are obviously aware of (Nicky) Maynard's talents and what he can do. It will be a tough old game.
"I tried to bring (Nicky) Maynard here a few years ago so I know what he is all about and we have to make sure he doesn't see a lot of the ball.
"Goalscorers are worth their weight in gold but I am confident my team is giving everything and I am looking forward to it."
