Coventry City manager Andy Thorn has said that he is not letting the incident of Ken Dulieu sitting on the bench get to him.
The national and local media have had a field day following the appearance of Mr Dulieu sitting on the bench on Saturday for the 1-0 defeat to Hull City.
No-one is certain if Ken Dulieu is either still in his self appointed Director Of Football Operations role, whether he will be at London Road on the bench or even in the country.
Speaking to the CT, Thorn said: I think the reaction was to be expected.
“I just have to stay focused with my players.
“I am not employed by the club to run what goes on off the pitch and so it is pretty clear really.”
Thorn was asked if the actions of Mr Dulieu were forcing the City boss to resign and he said: “You don’t have to be a genius to see that it isn’t good but I’m not going to give up.
“The way out of it is to get the best out of the players and keep them positive.
“Let’s be fair, if we come out of it we have swam the channel with a gas stove on our backs. But it has brought the group tighter together – there’s a real respect among the group and staff and when you have got that you are halfway through the battle.
“It’s going to be tough but the easiest thing in the world is to give up and I’ve never done that in my life.
“All the time those boys want to give it a go I will stand there with them. Do I give up on Gael Bigirimana, Conor Thomas, Cyrus Christie, or Josh Ruffels who is just coming through?
"They’re not jumping from the second division to the Championship, they are coming from the youth team and they are looking for help.
“They are doing well, pulling up trees for us, but they are making their mistakes in the first team when they should be making them in the youth team.”
