I Do Need To Be Playing - Eastwood

More from Freddy.

Coventry City forward Freddy Eastwood has said that he just wants to get as much time on the pitch as possible.

Speaking to the CT’s Andy Turner, Eastwood said: “There have been one or two clubs sniffing around but I decided not to go because I want to play here and if I am doing well here then other clubs might see that.

“I do need to be playing but even if I had another five years on my contract I would want to be in the fold and playing.

"Being out of contract doesn’t bother me too much to be honest. I am contracted to Coventry until the end of the season and I want to be back playing for club.

“I was delighted to put the shirt back on against Derby and I just want to try to get back in the team for 90 minutes and do the business on the pitch.

“There are holes to be filled and you have to take any chance you get with both hands by getting on the pitch and doing the business.

“I think everyone always wants to prove a point, especially me because obviously I haven’t touched a first team football for quite a few months now.

"I just want to get back out on the pitch now because it has been too long for me and I am disappointed that I have been out as long as I have.”

He added: “I had a full 90 minutes in the reserves last week and I was running all week before that so I must be getting close because the manager put me back in the squad on Saturday.

“I will get another good week of training under my belt this week and see what happens against Middlesbrough.

"We lost on Saturday so you never know the manager might change it.

“I’d love to play a part between now and the end of the season.

"I am lucky enough to be in the frame at the moment and I have to keep myself fit and try to get back in the team.

“Obviously the longer I get on the pitch the more chance I have got of scoring.

"I need to get my head down to be quite honest and see what happens.”
